            "Bernie" Madoff 

Bernard Lawrence "Bernie" Madoff was an American financier who executed the largest  Ponzi scheme in history, defrauding thousands of investors out of tens of billions of dollars over the course of at least 17 years, possibly longer. He was also a pioneer in electronic trading and chair of the Nasdaq in the early 1990s. He died in prison at age 82 on April 14, 2021, while serving a 150-year sentence for money laundering, securities fraud, and several other felonies

On 14 May 2011, Strauss-Kahn was arrested and charged with the sexual assault and attempted rape of 32-year-old Nafissatou Diallo, a housekeeper at the Sofitel New York Hotel in the Manhattan borough earlier that day.

Eliot Spitzer will resign effective Monday, completing a stunning fall from power after he was nationally disgraced by links to a high-priced prostitution ring, according to a state official who spoke on condition of anonymity because the announcement has not been made. Spitzer would be replaced by Lt. Gov. David Paterson, who will become New York's first black governor.
